Melaleuca the company redirects here
editWhy does the disambiguation page list it as a separate entry, but redirects back here? --66.72.39.226 (talk) 20:02, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Now fixed --Melburnian (talk) 08:52, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- There used to be documentation and reference to Melaleuca, Inc. (an American company out of Idaho Falls). This company has the largest pattents and breakthroughs for products using Melaleuca oil, and since http://melaleuca.com directs there, that should be the "company" referenced in the disambiguation (where did it go!?). The page needs to be recreated, since the company has a phenomenal amount of national and international awards of excellence for various reasons. Reference-wise, Melaleuca Inc. should be second ONLY to the plant group of that name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.220.223.50 (talk) 05:20, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Further use
editAccording to http://www.sydneybrushfencing.com/wp-content/uploads/Brush%20fence%20reportF.pdf a melaleuca tea tree species is cultivated as raw material for the type of brush fences used around houses etc in Australia.101.185.35.132 (talk) 11:20, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks but the .com mentioned does not name any Melaleuca species and refers to "ti tree". Not an appropriate reference for a Wikipedia article. Gderrin (talk) 12:09, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Pronunciation
editAustralian-born here, lived in Melbourne fifty years. The given pronunciation, /ˌmɛləˈljuːkə/, has no citation. I've never heard anyone say /ˌmɛləˈljuːkə/. I've always said /ˌmɛləˈluːkə/ (personally, closer to /ˌmæləˈluːkə/ because celery/salary merger) and a poll I ran on Mastodon agrees with me. Recommend parentheses around the /j/ at the very least, but I challenge users to find a source that has /j/ at all. 2001:8000:24EF:300F:D066:8DC6:8A9F:A637 (talk) 02:23, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
