ah by their comments of the past
editWould it hurt to have a little bit more respect here? You're doing good work, Adam. Heck, we're both using some of your pages as templates for our own. I prefer to shy away from conflict, but you've left snide remarks on both mine and Dysprosia's user pages, and a variety of narky remarks in edit comments, and I've just about had enough. I didn't set out to tread on your toes here. Neither did Dysprosia. But this is a communal effort, not your own, and for gods sake, a little bit of respect would not go astray. Excuse me? I pointed out to both of you that what should have been obvious, that I am working my way through the list (which I created) in alphabetical order, and that if you chose to edit the next name on the list, it is likely that I will overwrite you. Then I explained perfectly nicely to Disprosia how to contribute to the process if he wants to. My dear, if you think my comments were snide and/or narky, you should have a look at any of the seriously disputed articles here. Having said that, I am sorry if you have taken offense. - That's my point. I try to stay well away from those sorts of articles - I don't expect to find such treatment here. It's quite possible to explain exactly what you tried to do, and still be civil. But whatever. Ambivalenthysteria 14:05, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- a she, by the way Dysprosia 22:13, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- oops! sorry! Ambivalenthysteria 23:26, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- No, that was to Adam. (You didn't mention gender, btw :) Dysprosia 23:36, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
My apologies also. There seems to be an unwritten rule that Wikipedians are male unless proved otherwise (and I would guess that 90% are in fact male, since this project attracts geeks, pedants and know-it-alls, most of whom are men). That is why most female Wikipedians I know of use identifiably female user-names. Adam 00:33, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
