edit- Choirs
Memorial prides itself on having one of the best choir programs in the state. The choirs continue to be driven and motivated, and through this hard work, they are considered a top ensemble.
See verification and especially avoid peacock terms For the top bit, which I almost cut from the article; the bottom bits are just funny
here were the comments embedded in the wikitext:
Memorial prides itself on having one of the best choir programs in the state. The choir students are not acknowledged with great appreciation however, often receiving death glares in the hallways, and hurtful insults about their deep and wonderful passion for choir. The choirs also have achieved controlling status, particularly when the member reaches Concert Choir status. "Concert choir is the ultimate cult. They sit around in a curved room, almost circling around the director, and worship him." Many find this image quite disturbing. However, the choirs continue to be driven and motivated, and through this hard work, they are considered a top ensemble.
And (from show choir):
...Despite these achievements, many past members who have managed an escape describe the experience as frightening, and life controlling. The Show choirs are most commonly referred to as a cult.[citation needed] The showband however, is absolutely stunning. This small combo consists of 2 alto saxes, 1 tenor sax, 3 trumpets, 1 trombone, 2 synth players, a guitarist, a bass player, a drummer, and the leading maestro piano player. Together these people accompany the Old Abe and Eagle show choirs and do their best to keep the insults to a minimum.

It is not true that the hockey team was the first to win a state championship. The baseball team definitely won the state championship in 1962 and may have won the state championship in 1961. In an article on Stan Johnson who is in the Memorial Hall of Fame, it mentions he was on the baseball team that won two state championships. Oldsopplaya (talk) 03:06, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
