editFew newspapers have proofreaders anymore. Proofreading duties at many newspapers are handled by copy editors. The Sun-Star has five-person copy desk. Mercedsunstar
Why does this accurate information keep getting deleted from this page? I think that Merced Sun-Star writers and editors should identify themselves when they contribute to, or delete material from, this article. Mercedboy07 20:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
It wasn't entirely accurate. Now it's a better reflection of the newspaper's columnists. Sorry about not logging in first before making the change. Mercedsunstar
Columnists
editThe newspaper's columnists often provide nostalgic information from the perspective of older people. One columnist, Bill Sanford, is a retired Methodist minister. His column includes his memories of being a Methodist minister as well as commentary on contemporary social issues. [1]. Another columnist, Judy La Salle, is a retired parole officer. Her column includes her memories of being a parole officer. She also writes opinion pieces, often relating to matters of personal and public morality. [2] Other recent topics include how chicken does not taste as good as it used to [3] and why spitting is bad [4].
