Pagani V12-R is potentially updated M120 engine
editMotortrend journalist Jonny Lieberman, in his Huayra R test, points out that the engine of this supercar has a 48-valve cylinder head and a DOHC system in each unit, so we can partially conclude that the brand new Pagani V12-R engine, which was developed with HWA AG Motorsport, is nothing more than an evolution of the AMG M120 / M297 engine, namely it uses a cylinder block based on.[1] Because, for example, the engine currently used by the regular Huayra (M158 AMG) has a slightly smaller displacement compared to the M120 AMG - 5,980 cc vs. 5,987 cc, and also uses the SOHC system with 3 valves per cylinder (36 in total). Also M120 is naturally aspirated, while M158 is twin-turbocharged. But to make sure that it is really using the unit from the M120, you need to get accurate data on the volume of the new engine in cubic centimeters. On Ultimatecarpage.com website of car specifications you can find information that the Huayra R engine has the same figures of displacement (5,987 cc) and bore (89 mm)/stroke (80.2 mm) of the piston as the M120, which was installed on the Zonda R. So there is reason to believe that the Pagani V12- R engine is now located in the bonnet compartment Pagani Huayra R uses architecture, or rather a block from the older Mercedes-AMG engine.[2] Tsikhotskyi19 (talk) 12:18, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
