V6 turbo hybrid era

It seems weird that we are putting 2022 and 2014-2020 in the same era. I know that they are both V6 Turbo hybrid, but I would argue that this is a separate era. It makes very little sense to clump them together when we have a massive rule change, which pushes Mercedes to the third best team, a long way behind the top two, instead of being either the clear front-runner, or in the top two, way ahead of third. I therefore suggest we put 2022 into a seperate sub-header. SSSB (talk) 15:10, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Extracting Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team to a new page

Shouldn't the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team have its own Wikipedia page, rather than sharing the same page with the unrelated (in terms of team entry continuity) Daimler-Benz AG from the '50s, the pre-F1 team(s), and Mercedes as an engine supplier? 2A00:23C7:B011:4001:68CD:3E7E:86D4:B317 (talk) 23:14, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

The general convention of the Formula One WikiProject is to cover all related entrants which use the same constructor name in the one article, e.g.

• Alfa Romeo in Formula One covers the 1950-1951 "factory" team, the 1979-1985 "Autodelta" team and the 2019-2022 "Sauber" team, and
• Renault in Formula One covers the 1977-1985, 2002-2011 and 2016-2020 teams

The exception to this rule is that Team Lotus (1958-1994), Team Lotus (2010–2011) and Lotus F1 (2012-2015), who all used the constructor name "Lotus", and are related via Group Lotus, have separate articles. DH85868993 (talk) 23:28, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

I understand your point. However, I have two questions:

• What does "same constructor name" mean exactly? Daimler-Benz AG looks very different from Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, even though the holding company is the same (probably, unless a re-organisation happened).
• Why is there an exception for Lotus?

Same constructor means that the 1954 car is branded as being made by the same company as the 2014 car. In a similar way, we keep Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri seperate even though literally everything but the name stayed the same during the transition (apart from the minor differences every company has still deal with in day-to-day business) SSSB (talk) 16:08, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Oppose for the reason laid out by DH85868993. Our articles are not defined by entry continuity, but rather by constructor name, (as this is the practice followed by most sources). SSSB (talk) 06:49, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Esports

This article doesn't includes anything related to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports Team in Formula One Esports Series, where they've won 3 Driver's Championships and 2 Constructor's Championships, making them the most successful team in the series. I think it would be noteworthy to add a Esports subtitle into this article. I would like know your opinion. Gaayhan (talk) 16:29, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

@182.70.94.38: I think the link is OK. The target of the link (List_of_Formula_One_constructors#Team's_nationality) discusses the fact that the country of a Formula One team's licence can be different to the country where it is physically based. DH85868993 (talk) 23:13, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
