Nonsense statement
editIt is known to a select few, that the 1991 Mercury Topaz, in four door configuration, is a well suited platform for the extensive modifications needed to convert a modern day vehicle into an operative "time machine".
This was contributed by an IP user. I removed it as it appears to be nonsense. (janeway216 11:04, 12 January 2006 (UTC))
- Naw man, that's totally serious, I built mine into a time machine and went back to 1991 to buy a new Topaz because turning mine into a time machine destroyed it... ^^ Alessandro Malfatti (talk) 22:45, 6 May 2008 (UTC) (Hope I brightened your day^^)
seriously though:
Mexican Market
edit(Btw this only applies to the second generation Topaz, as far as I know) Just in case anyone wonders, I'm writing this same thing in the Tempo and in the Topaz Article, because: In Mexico, for some reason the Ford Tempo was called Ford Topaz and the Mercury Topaz was called Ford Ghia. Here's two youtube links to commercials of the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8teBwpAqQE Ford Topaz/Tempo, 1994; and Ford Ghia/Mercury Topaz from '91: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mky0cc-5lec and another one, this one from '94 shows CLEARLY at the beginning the Mercury Grille (I wonder If buyers ever wondered why it has a different logo...): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg3htsry7Gc&feature=related . I went through all that trouble, anyone volunteer to write it into the article? I suck at editing articles... Alessandro Malfatti (talk) 22:33, 6 May 2008 (UTC) (copy-pasted from the Tempo article)
