I have modified the sentence "Behind... is Tienanmen Gate..." to "Behind... is Duanmen Gate..." due to the fact that the gate to the south of the viewer must be Duanmen Gate, not Tiananmen Gate. It is possible that the Tiananmen Gate and the Duanmen Gate is identical (except for its name) that led to this confusion. Someone please add the hyper link to Duanmen Gate.
