Proposal to rename this article back to "Rockwell International"
editFrom what I read from this article, this article is talking about the conglomate Rockwell International which, according to its ending, "no longer exists." ArvinMeritor is merely one of its spinoffs and have no standing to be the name of the article. I propose the article to be renamed Rockwell International.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Samuel Curtis (talk • contribs) 11:25, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- I absolutely disagree. ArvinMeritor has close to 30,000 employees in various countries worldwide. It's headquarters is in Troy MI and it has various offices and plants in the U.S. The automotive portion of Rockwell was spun off, but Rockwell still exists too. ArvinMeritor is not Rockwell and vice versa so renaming this article would not be encyclopedic, and it would no longer have any factual relevance. --Lorraine LeBeau 17:41, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to add that it's not just the US - ArvinMeritor is a world-wide company. In fact one of the largest Automotive suppliers in the world.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.149.35.19 (talk • contribs) 14:24, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Note also, that at the time Meritor was created in 1997, that was a separate SEC filing. So in all aspects at that time, Meritor severed all ties to Rockwell and was it's own entity standing on it's own. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.43.128.85 (talk) 17:01, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
