Move?

edit

In response to User:Xoanito, who wants to move almost all of this article to a new lemma "mesoporous magnesium carbonate":

If in the end we agree that this move is a good idea, then it should be done correctly, i.e. without loosing page history: You would request an administrative move to the new lemma, so that the old lemma "Upsalite" is free for new content.

But first we should clarify: are there any mesoporous magnesium carbonates that are not Upsalites? Unless examples for this are given, I fail to see the need for moving.

In response to Nsda.

Yes, there are several scientific articles on mesoporous magnesium carbonate where the name Upsalite is not used or mentioned. The name Upsalite is today a registered trademark (a commercial asset) owned by a company and thus not used to describe all types of magnesium carbonates, however this was not the case when the first article describing mesoporous magnesium carbonate was published in 2013 and where the authors first introduced the name. Today there are several more variants of mesoporous magnesium carbonates with different features described in the scientific literature, however the name Upsalite can only be used (commercially) by the company who owns the trademark. Hence, the content in on the Upsalite page here on Wikipedia is a bit misleading since a lot has happened in the area since 2013.

I have submitted a new page called Mesoporous Magnesium Carbonate for review and hope it will be accepted for publication during the next couple of weeks. Pls guide me on how to request a administrative move of the history to that new page, I'm a novice here on Wikipedia. If possible, you are most welcome to have a look on the new page and see what you think of it. I don't know if you can access it in any way.

Xoanito, welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for contributing. I moved the page "Upsalite" to this new lemma, as you proposed, carrying along its history and this talk page. Please feel free to edit this page, and as well as the page Upsalite, which I restored from your edit. You say that you prepared a completely new page called Mesoporous Magnesium Carbonate. Let me suggest that you do not replace existing pages by completely new ones, but that you improve existing text step by step, section by section. Cheers, -- Nsda (talk) 15:02, 18 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for welcoming me and thanks for helping with the move Nsda! I will follow your advice to improve already existing text and sections where possible. --Xoanito (talk) 08:53, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
