Variable star study
editWas this cited study published in a peer-reviewed journal? What was its results? It seems to me this is a non-notable, self-published work. Awolf002 01:43, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
No answer, time to remove it. Awolf002 01:22, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Paid for 'Star Database' names have no wider validity
editI have removed the following:
- The star has another name known as the barney Lukey star in the Intergalactic Star Databace.
I won't validate the databse with a link - its one of those where you can choose any star and 'name it' by registering way YOU call it; yes some of thase databases will allow you to 'rename' Aldebaran as 'Fred' , for example. These databases may mean someone gets a nice certificate and a warm feeling inside, but if people wish to invest their money naming stars in these databases it is NOT encyclopaedic information in line with WP:notability.
