editThe work of Donald B. Maudsley should be cited. His 1979 PhD. dissertation first lays out the main precepts of meta learning. Copies are available from the University of Toronto. He is also cited in works by Jack Mezirow as early as 1981.

"Meta learning is the study of disciplines"
editSeveral years ago, someone re-wrote the first sentence in this article to describe meta-learning as "the study of disciplines." Is this new definition as accurate as the old definition? Jarble (talk) 02:52, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
- This new definition was apparently incorrect, but it has been corrected again. Jarble (talk) 20:14, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
