Hypercycle
editDidn't this also usd to be known as the Hypercycle ? (Eigen M. and P. Schuster. The Hypercycle: A principle of natural self-organization, Springer, Berlin, 1979) I see that link has disappeared from wiki ?
- There is currently an article but with no content related to the thesis which is apparently something like cellular automata or other more or less conventional mathematical formulations that can underpin evolutionary processes and unrelated in any interesting way to this article's topic. - Looked a little closer and no they are unrelated, except in the most trivial sense, the material on the first page above and a look at the quasispecies concept show that there is no relation, in fact it's sort of an analytic/synthetic dichotomy between the topic of this article and that approach. - Although the article (Metsystem transitions) may or may not relate to the Springer article, it does state, for instance, that: "A metasystem is formed by the integration of a number of initially independent components, such as molecules" and that "Prime examples are the origin of life". The article on Hypercycles states, for instance, that hypercycles are: "abstract model(s) of organization of self-replicating molecules", formulated to "explain(ed) how life on Earth could have begun". These two wiki articles, whatever the relevance of the particular Springer article, clearly have significant relevance to each other so I've added back an internal link. I am unable to access the Springet article so can't comment on it, however it would seem relevant to me if only because of its authorship. LookingGlass (talk) 12:09, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
As my last talk archive indicates, I didn't intend for a seventh stage to appear in the section I created, so no problem with its removal if I put it there. Lycurgus (talk) 05:39, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Make title of thread I created link to pragmatics of Ω point. 72.228.177.92 (talk) 01:30, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- To be clear, the seventh (and final) stage is control of culture. 108.183.102.223 (talk) 20:22, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Revisionism
editThis article seems to be revisionist. I have corrected the chronology so that the 2016 theory comes after an outline of the constructs of the theory's orginator( rather than before it). LookingGlass (talk) 14:40, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- oops, seems I meant revisionist: "attempting to reevaluate and restate the past based on newly acquired standards", although this also means "of or relating to revisionists or revisionism". But then revisionism (if not solely related to marxism) seems to mean merely the updating of something... LookingGlass (talk) 12:16, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
