R=Radical
What does the R mean in this image? I can't find the R symbol in the table showing the periodicity of the elements. Could it stand for Arginine? Jecowa (talk) 08:03, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
R stands for radical. You can think of it as a placeholder for any other organic chain. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 12:05, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

methyl donor
A section discussing the term "methyl donor" should be added, and have "methyl donor" redirect to this page. Mmortal03 (talk) 05:58, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
What is methyl?
Methyl is an ion with the formula CH3-. Z68.55.47.5 (talk) 20:34, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- This isn't normally true. "Methyl" is most commonly used to refer to CH3 groups that are part of larger molecules. - Alltat (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
