editIsn't Metriacanthosaurus related to Dimetrodon? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.141.20.9 (talk) 21:34, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- Not particularly. Dimetrodon is a pelycosaur, an early entry on the line leading to mammals, whereas Metriacanthosaurus is theropod dinosaur. J. Spencer (talk) 23:10, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Any reference why is it classified along with Sinraptorids?--92.118.191.48 (talk) 15:52, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
If the reason you believe this is because of its spines, they were barely visible on a living animal and it would have looked similar to Allosaurus or Megalosaurus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.36.148.242 (talk) 22:23, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
