Trafford Park

edit

Why does not the article say anything about Trafford Park until it discusses the 1940 bombing of the factory? And even then it's only mentioned obliquely.

This is from the Trafford Park article and should be partly incorporated into this one surely:

The first American company to arrive was Westinghouse, which formed its British subsidiary – British Westinghouse Electric Company – in 1899, and purchased 130 acres (52.6 ha) on two sites. Building work started in 1900, and the factory began production of turbines and electric generators in 1902. By the following year, British Westinghouse was employing approximately half of the 12,000 workers in Trafford Park. Its main machine shop was 899 feet (274 m) long and 440 feet (134 m) wide; for almost 100 years Westinghouse's Trafford Park works was the most important engineering facility in Britain.[23] In 1919, Westinghouse was sold to the Vickers Company and renamed Metropolitan-Vickers.[24]Brianhep (talk) 13:25, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Be Bold, why not add it? Pyrotec (talk) 14:25, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
