Needs an article?

Consensus is that all verifiable places are inherently notable, and thus warrant an article. However, there are concerns that this is not an actual place, but rather a nickname for another community. I found this source, which mentions the governor of Illinois traveling to Mexico, Illinois, so it seems to be a real community. –Juliancolton ^{Tropical Cyclone} 15:19, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

The original version of the article referred to a US Geological Survey entry, which in turn refers to

This seems, then, to be a genuine place. If consensus really supports the madness of an article on every verifiable place, then this article should stand. —SlamDiego_←T 01:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Indeed. However, while all verifiable places have been deemed inherently notable, borderline verifiability is usually dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
