What material and shape is the indenter for the Meyer hardness test ? Rod57 (talk) 02:57, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Any material or indenter shape can be used for Meyer hardness.Bob Clemintime (talk) 15:36, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

When was it proposed ? and how widely used has it been ? Rod57 (talk) 02:59, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Graph is confusing ; Why does copper hardness vary with indentation diameter ? Can anyone find a more useful graph re Meyer hardness test ? Rod57 (talk)

"An advantage of the Meyer test is that it is less sensitive to the applied load, especially compared to the Brinell hardness test. For cold worked materials the Meyer hardness is relatively constant and independent of load, whereas for the Brinell hardness test it decreases with higher loads. For annealed materials the Meyer hardness increases continuously with load due to strain hardening." Wizard191 (talk) 19:34, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
