why the name MiR-122
editThe diagram seems to show the precursor has 74 bases. MiRNA#Nomenclature suggests the 122 is just the order of discovery - Rod57 (talk) 13:53, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- That's correct, most of the miR-XXX names are assigned by miRBase. They have nothing to do with sequence length.--Paul (talk) 09:01, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
