Deficiencies

This article about the extinct mammal, Miacis, has some major deficiencies that reduce its credibility; example: "genus of species", and a much too chaotic discussion of its contribution to carnivora. As a college student in pursuit of a degree in the sciences I would appreciate it if this article could be edited into a credible account on the species.

Restoration?

What species is depicted, Apokryltaros? Could it be what is now Gustafsonia? FunkMonk (talk) 18:47, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

I didn't have any species in mind, as I based it off of a reconstruction I saw in After The Dinosaurs by Donald Prothero. I can go back and make a more specific reconstruction and identification for both Miacis and Gustafsonia.--Mr Fink (talk) 20:39, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

Taxonomy section

I've added a new section to deal with the myriad species assigned to this waste basket taxon. The table was based on a section in the corresponding article] from the Catalan Wikipedia. I've extend the table to include more species and added a column to give current status and additional information (e.g. assignment to new genera). I'm working on a cladogram to show the polyphyletic and paraphyletic nature of this genus. Jts1882 (talk) 14:06, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
