Text Box Misleading?
editI don't think the text-box describing "Michael" as a "song by the Highwaymen" is accurate or appropriate. As the article makes clear, the song is a traditional spiritual that dates to slavery times. The version recorded by The Highwaymen sold the most copies as a 45-rpm record, but even then the song was not "by" that group but rather "by" Tony Saletan, if anyone. But again, Saletan merely modernized the structure of the traditional song with the idea of making more singable by 20th Century Americans (white and black); and his version was first recorded by the Weavers. The Highwaymen's version is merely a folk-pop cover. I would delete the box. PDGPA (talk) 02:13, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Please correct your entry for the song Michael Row the Boat Ashore. For songwriters it links to Bob Gibson the baseball pitcher instead of Bob Gibson the folk singer.Glenster1 (talk) 21:28, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
edit=== Text box corrected as to "writer," correcting both noted issues, in October 2019. See Article history for 9 October 2019. PDGPA (talk) 18:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
