Please do not use this page or the page of any other acting teacher to advertise

edit

The Jason Bennett advertisers are back. JB put up his own Wikipedia entry but it was deleted for not being noteworthy. They also put mentioned of Jason Bennett in every acting entry. Now Ucprof is starting to do this again. Please help stop this. Thank You. Tree Trimer 18:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merge From Michael Chekhov Studio London

edit

This has been removed without explanation by user Ghirlandajo as "linkspam". If no good reason is given, I will reinstate this mergefrom tag, as the Michael Chekhov Studio London article does not deserve an article of its own, and any info that is in there that is worth keeping can and should be included here. I would like an explanation how the use of merge-tags on two closely related articles can be considered Spam. Fram 14:21, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you think that Michael Chekhov Studio London is non-notable, please nominate the article for deletion. There are dozens Chekhov schools all around the world, I don't see a reason why we should advertise one of these here. Any attempts to flood this article with spam will be checked promptly. --Ghirla -трёп- 14:29, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for assuming good faith by equalling a mergefrom tag with an "attempt to flood this article with spam". As usual, very civil of you. What I said was that the London Studio does not deserve an article of its own, not that it was non-notable in the context of the main Chekhov article. It does have the fourth Google link when you search for Michael Chekhov, by the way. Since you feel very clearly that the article is non-notable, you should post it for deletion. Just like when you remove a mergefrom tag, you should also remove the mergeto tag. As for checking it promptly, you have forgotten one of the external links at the bottom of the page. Basically, I don't mind that you prefer deleting the article instead of merging it with this one, but don't give reasons like "linkspam" for an honest merge proposal, and don't do half work about it when removing it, and don't assume bad faith in other editors. From the MCSL: We're happy for the MCSL page and the Michael Chekhov page to be merged, provided the text and internal and external links remain. There are not 'dozens' of Chekhov schools around the world (though we wish that were the case!) in fact students come from all over the world to study with us. Chekhov's work is not widely known in the UK though there has been an increase over the past 5 years and as a massive percentage of university drama students use Wikipedia as a first point of reference for any academic research. the MCSL feel it important that the article remain on wikipedia, even if merged.

The Michael Chekhov Studio London article was deleted as non-notable, because it lacked any reliable, third-party sources indicating its notability.  • DP •  {huh?} 11:18, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removal of citation

edit

I've removed a citation from Carnicke's book used to support the negative evaluation of emotion memory. Maybe it's because I'm using an older edition, but the material doesn't appear on the page given and a search of the index under Michael Chekhov didn't reveal it either. I've added a fact tag.  • DP •  {huh?} 11:18, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

So what did he die of? He died relatively young. 2600:1700:BC01:9B0:18FE:8B6:4077:5F01 (talk) 15:33, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
