Political spectrum?
There ought to be something about where he falls in the political spectrum or a detailed description of his politics. He seems to be a moderate Republican overall, but quite conservative when it comes to national security and immigration. Geez, is there anyone in the Northeast who is comprehensively conservative? Is there an article about this particular topic and why people in the Northeast fear comprehensive conservatives? Well, I guess Stephen Laffey of Rhode Island is one of those people. He ought to have a national talk show. He's quite vocal. -Amit
Endorsing Barack Obama is a good way to keep his job at MSNBC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.233.61.41 (talk) 19:56, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
It's not the job of Wikipedia to speculate on his political leanings. Simply state the facts about what he has said or done. —66.235.3.177 (talk) 20:03, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
And the Obama Liberal PC police move in on Wikipedia to silence the truth. And I did state the fact...he sold out and backed Obama.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.233.61.41 (talk) 16:13, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Remove Austro-Hungarian category
Smerconish should be removed from the Austro-Hungarian category as the Austrian empire ended more than a century ago, and his ancestors were from what is now Poland. Smerconish is actually Eastern European-Polish, Ukranian, and Russian and not really actually Austrian, German, or Hungarian.100.34.185.220 (talk) 23:07, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
Needs SIGNIFICANT re-write - Currently reads like a breezy personal website
Every part of this needs an overhaul. These are just the first sentences of every paragraph, and they are ridiculous:
"His media work grew out of his unique political experiences at an early age..."
"He has received many accolades for his work as a broadcaster including ..."
"As a result of his increasing radio prominence, Smerconish was increasingly invited to appear on television,..."
"In 2013, Smerconish decided to give up his terrestrial radio platform ..."
"Smerconish has appeared on virtually every television program where politics is a staple,..."
"To mark his 30 years in talk radio, Smerconish aired an auto-biographical film..."
The Books section should be, if anything, just a LIST of the books, not an expansive encomium/summary of each one. --Petzl (talk) 09:50, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
