The result of the move request was: Moved to Micheal Ward. Non-controversial necessary move to the correct spelling of the subject's name, subject in recent current event. (non-admin closure) Kingsif (talk) 20:06, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Michael Ward (British actor) → Micheal Ward - New BLP whose page was moved from the intended target name erroneously by SerAntoniDeMiloni as there already is a different Michael Ward (actor), who was also a British film actor (there could be merit in moving his BIO to Michael Ward (actor, born 1909) for consistency). Because the target article exists (it was the start BLP article), I think it would be best for an admin to do the move and preserve the histories? thanks. Per below, move to Micheal Ward (and delete Michael Ward (British actor) and delete Michael Ward (actor, born 1995) which are no longer relevant). Can be SPEEDY MOVED now. Britishfinance (talk) 21:52, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
Support per nomination and also support Michael Ward (actor) → Michael Ward (actor, born 1909). As long as both entries exist, the form "Michael Ward (actor)" is incomplete disambiguation.—Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 11:24, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support the above, and agree with Roman Spinner on moving of 1909 Michael Ward. SerAntoniDeMiloni (talk) 21:12, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
- Comment is it not spelt "Micheal Ward"? —Jonny Nixon (talk) 06:23, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- Move to Micheal Ward. The above comment is correct. His name is spelled Micheal by all refs in the article (except Metro), IMDB and BAFTA. Station1 (talk) 08:24, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- Comment. Thank you for pointing out the Michael / Micheal difference. As a result, I have stricken my earlier "support" and now oppose the nomination and support Michael Ward (British actor) → Micheal Ward per Jonny Nixon and Station1. There is also, of course, no need to move Michael Ward (actor) → Michael Ward (actor, born 1909). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 08:39, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- Comment, good spot Jonny Nixon, and have changed the OP. There is still a lot of unhelpful RS using "Michael" (e.g. Evening Standard, and even the original BBC BAFTA article used Michael - they have now changed it but the wrong name is still in the cache), so sympathy with the article creator. His Twitter account, is Micheal Ward, and I notice that the actual BAFTA videos of the presentation had his name as Micheal Ward, so we are done here. Can close this as a Speedy. This RM should also be a useful clarification to keep in the Talk Page. Britishfinance (talk) 09:54, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support Micheal Ward. Appears to be the name he uses. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:34, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

Pronunciation of name?
editCan we get a sourced lPA transcription of his name? That seems to be what's usually done with names that aren't pronounced in the expected way. As I understand it, while his name is spelled like Micheal, it's actually pronounced as if it was Michael. 51.37.134.78 (talk) 18:30, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
