Pronounciation of his name
editIs it necessary to put in the 'proper' pronounciation of Gondry? Would an English-native assume his name is pronounced any other way? Cause this way, it seemds rather strange. I'll change it, if I am mistaken, please undo my changes.--Soetermans 20:36, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- I actually just came here to find out how to pronounce "Michel." --jivy 01:24, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- ditto on "michel" xx little anna 18:58, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Incase anyone is still wondering, it's like the English "Michelle". Pele Merengue 11:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
YouTube
editI removed the lines describing his rubick's cube trick on youtube. It doesn't seem significant enough to warrant mention, given that it took up as much space as the description of one of his feature films. It also gave the impression that he was trying to convince people it was real, when, being Gondry, the real question was "How is he fooling us?" If people think that his youtube account is worth mentioning then do so, but it isnt worth discussing a single 2 minute youtube video on the biography of a famous director. 121.44.137.244 09:19, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, we should not bother mentioning the video itself and linking it, but there SHOULD be a mention of his Youtube account so people can subscribe to him in case he puts more stuff out. So link to that and delete the other links to his seperate Youtube videos. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/user/partizangondry The13thzen 20:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- It shouldn't be the WP:LEAD section, anyway. Just64helpin 21:08, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Trademarks
editI think there should be a list here of Gondry's technique's trademark features. I think these would be: surrealism; crude, theatre-like scenery; puppets; morphing objects and environments; multiplication of objects; subreality (TV\book\dream) merging with prime reality; shaky camera, one-shot; musicological rendention of song. Removes 2 videos from list
editI have cross checked our list with this and removed 2 videos that are unsourced. ("A Ribbon" - Devendra Banhart (2005) and "Jon meets Jessica" - Navie Stroll (2002)) Feel free to restore if they can be sourced (I have a feeling at least one is a hoax).-Andrew c [talk] 17:43, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Less Fannish Rewrite Needed
editToo much of this reads like it was written by the President of the Springfield Chapter of the Michel Gondry Fan Club. The dead giveaway is always the use of a subject's first name. 24.24.244.132 (talk) 19:38, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Clarification needed
editWhat the heck does this mean?
"(he met Joel Silver, the producer of the movie and he had no choice but accept the deal for a small amount)" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.100.170 (talk) 14:17, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Now removed (only four years later). 95.44.50.222 (talk) 16:08, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
Ubik
editI once read about he was working on an adaption of Philip's Dick "Ubik". In this wiki too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.188.226.138 (talk) 00:12, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Why doesn't the header for the "Advertisments" section appear and why doesn't the link from the contents box to the "Advertisements" section work?
Can someone fix that please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.78.186.121 (talk) 23:09, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
European Scientific Journal
editI've removed the reference to the European Scientific Journal here. It was discussed at Talk:metamodernism and User:Crazytales noted that Jeffrey Beall listed it his list of predatory open access publishers here. It's allegedly reviewed in 7-10 days, and published close to weekly. Further, the author of this piece is a professor at Grigol Robakidze University, largely a dental school in Georgia. There's no reason to consider it a reliable source. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:46, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
MICROBE ET GASOIL!!!
editWill someone with a more trusted account than my own be able to add a running update for Gondry's latest film "MICROBE ET GASOIL" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.199.37.196 (talk) 02:42, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
"Queen for a Day" by The Life of Riley
editThis video is described as "unreleased", but a number of people online can attest seeing it in USSR approximately in 1989 or 1990. What does "unreleased" mean? 176.193.159.66 (talk) 23:08, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
"Official website" is not that
editThe link for the "Official website" is just a page where the michelgondry.com domain is offered for sale. Musanim (talk) 22:15, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
