Michele Pontrandolfo Michele Pontrandolfo (Pordenone, 8 November 1971) is an Italian explorer.

He completed 18 polar expeditions. He reached the geo magnetic pole in 2006 alone, he crossed Greenland in 2000 from east to west, in 2012 from south to north accompanied by his friend Marco Martinuzzi, he made four expeditions in the Icelandic glacier Vatnajökull, making an absolute world premiere with 4 crossings in 4 different points and in 2009 starting from Resolute, a village sittuated in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, reached the magnetic North Pole (1996 coordinates) alone. He has also made other expeditions to polar places without external aid, such as shipping to the Hielos Continentales, the Svalbard islands, and the Ellesmere island.

From 2005 to 2006 he was summoned by the 4th Alpine Corps of Bolzano and subsequently to the 8th Alpine Regiment, in Cividale del Friuli.

He has written two books about his exploits: Stella in capo alla mondo Editoriale Scienza (Giunti Editore) with Andrea Valente in 2008 and Viaggio nella al ghiaccio Biblioteca dell'Immagine, in 2010.

In addition to exploration, it is dedicated to other disciplines that can be practiced in the mountains, such as: sport climbing, ski mountaineering, mountain biking, athletics and parachuting, with the experience of over 400 launches.
