Wrong last name

Michelle's last name is officially CHAN not Cheung. Its a chinese name. I'm not sure how to correct this mistake so please if someone could it would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.61.237 (talk) 20:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

You are likely incorrect. Michelle's name is shown spelled as "Cheung" by the creators, such as in a profile of Michelle that Wendy gives to Joker in "R.O.D the TV". Here's a link to a screenshot showing her name spelled this way: http://readordie.wikia.com/wiki/Image:BLFilesSisters.jpg. The "English" provided is not a translation by the localization team but what the original team Japanese team drew into the background, so their intentions seem clear. Likely, as the Three Sisters' names appear to be modeled after the actresses from the "Heroic Trio", Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh (also credited in her films as "Michelle Khan"), and Anita Mui, the name is supposed to be spelled like the actress's ("Cheung," as demonstrated being used by a real live resident of Hong Kong, is a fully legitimate Chinese name in its own right). The reason why the name is sometimes translated is "Chan" is because that is how her name is spelled in katakana(as very clearly shown in her name translation at the top of the page) -- the Japanese can't accurately approximate the sound of the Cantonese name within the limitations of the Japanese syllabary--spelling it "Cha N" is about as close as they can get.

Still, it's probably worth clarifying on the Wiki page the rationale as to why her name is spelled this way, but I will try to find the exact episode first, so it can be cited properly. DeathQuaker (talk) 03:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Citations, Paper Master vs papermaster, Name again, and Powers vs. Personality, and other edits

1. I have added a number of citations to back up many of the descriptions in this article. Some references are repeated, and I could not figure out how to make the same reference be listed only under one reference number; the Wikipedia:Citing Sources page does not make it clear. If you know how to fix this, please do so.

2. "Paper Master" was written as "papermaster" and "Paper Master" throughout the article; for consistency's sake, I switched to "Paper Master" (in most English translations I am familiar with, "kamitsukai" is translated into two separated words, and I think in English separating the words makes sense--even though the wikipedia article spells it as "papermaster"). If you strongly object, please feel free to fix this, but please make sure it's changed consistently throughout the article.

3. The Cheung vs. Chan issue was addressed. Experts in Cantonese and/or Japanese should please contribute/correct. Also, further translations for Michelle's name could be provided, as is done for Maggie's page.

4. I have moved the description of Michelle's resistance of Webber's sonic attacks back to the "personality" section. The explanation is an illustration of Michelle's emotional balance, which is a personality trait, not a "skill" or "power." There's nothing supernatural or trained about being emotionally well-balanced, and Webber's dialogue is pretty clear in describing it in these terms--he's basically saying, "Wow, you're really cool-headed," not, "Wow, you have supernatural sonic resistance."
