On the application, filed in 1973, for National Historic Landmark status it was listed as Macedonia Baptist Church/ Michigan Street Baptist Church. If you follow the links at the bottom of the article you can read the original application (12 pages). Shinerunner (talk) 00:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
A redirect from Michigan Street Baptist Church is provided to this page. I have no objection moving this to Michigan Street Baptist Church since that is admittedly the more common name and having Macedonia Baptist Church (Buffalo, New York) redirected to it. It is done in other NRHP cases where the NRHP name is not the current name.--Pubdog (talk) 02:22, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
This page very clearly needs to be moved to "Michigan Street Baptist Church". National Register listing notwithstanding, the Michigan Street name is the more common one: as several of many examples, it's referred to as such on its official website and Facebook page, the official website of the Michigan Street African-American Heritage Corridor that runs it, on Visit Buffalo Niagara's official website, and even on the historical marker outside the building. Furthermore, Macedonia Baptist Church is still in operation on a completely different site on East North Street (where it's been since 1974 - that's how outdated the article's current name is!) and currently has nothing to do with the Michigan Avenue building, so the value of keeping Macedonia Baptist Church as a redirect is questionable given that there's essentially no information in this article on the history, etc. of that congregation. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 22:19, 20 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
