Original Idea
editTattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ had the idea of creating this article. Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:02, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Hello Cullen328 and Jackson Peebles and TheOriginalSoni I wanted to invite you to look at my draft of an article (this one) on Michka Assayas. I would like some feedback since this is the very first article I have started from scratch. I am in the very early stages obviously as there isn't much information here at all. There is a french wiki version of the article that I would like to have translated in order to add some info from that to here. I am curious as how to ask for feedback from others or how to invite people to help me edit before going live. I want to do it right and I don't want to end up in the articles for deletion section either. Any help/suggestions that I can get from you all would be greatly appreciated. I did go to the appropriate links that tell you about requesting feedback but am confused (nothing new) since one of the pages was active one was inactive. Do I need to add my draft to a list? is there a template i can add to the page or talk page? Also curious about the categories to add to this. Is this a notable enough writer as well? I used a red link in another article to start this however maybe it is not a good subject? Again Thank you. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 16:38, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- User:Miss Bono asked for my assistance, see User talk:Pp.paul.4#French Translation. I created the two subpages User:Tattoodwaitress/Michka Assayas/de and User:Tattoodwaitress/Michka Assayas/fr with automated translations of the German and French wikipedia articles on Michka Assayas. Hope it helps somehow in preparing the article. --Pp.paul.4 (talk) 10:33, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, stopping by as well, since we have talked on our pages about this article. There is a biography infobox template that can be added that will show in the upper right hand corner of the article. (Where the picture goes, if you get lucky enough to find one that won't be shot down for copyright ownership). Don't worry about categories. Once this goes live, many can be added. That is one of the first things that gets done to a new article, along with more templates: Persondata and defaultsort...I have both yours and Cullen 328's article drafts watchlisted and will try to help. Thanks Fylbecatulous talk 11:50, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

- Hi, TattØØdẄaitre§, you are welcome. I think it is ready for main space, more adds will come later. It needs categories and a long etc :) Miss Bono [zootalk]☆ 17:58, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Miss Bono I just added a couple more things. I will have my adopter check it out and then move to main space as soon as he looks at it. I have my other one too that i think is about ready for mainspace. Maybe you might want to look at that one too? Tiger Patrick I am getting excited. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 18:15, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Adding refs to this article (from french wiki)
editThis help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Using the two subpages created by another editor this one is being created (along with some additional information and the draft that I created). How do I add the refs from the original french article? I added ref number one but would like some advice before continuing on. Did I do it right? Thanks TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 20:30, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Unable to help (so I left your tag untouched), as I don't quite understand the need nor the exact query. Could you elaborate? I'm liking your citations. On a different topic, two main suggestions:
- Add categories
- Add an image (since this page is also on French Wikipedia, this is a great opportunity to find a Public Domain or free image to upload to Commons and use on both pages!)
I do think that this is ready for the mainspace. I did a minor copyedit, removed your external links section (which was empty), and revised on citation using CitationBot. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 22:52, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Jackson PeeblesThank you very much Jackson, I will have to learn how to use citation bot in the future. What i mean is if you go to the original french version and you go to ref 1, which i already used, and you want to transfer to the english version how do you do it? Since some of the info came from a translation of the french version don't you need to credit the original source? which in this case is in french? The ref 1 citation that I used goes to the french page but i wrote the citation in english (after using google translate of course). I hope that makes it clearer. Categories are not supposed to be added to namespace articles (at least this is what I saw in history edits of another page that i was viewing. So do i add the category after submitting? Also, I am wondering how to find public domain photos though? I can't seem to find an answer on this anywhere that I ask. How do you know if it is public domain? TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 05:40, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
- It looks like that reference is linking to an archived page, and there is a specific template to specify as such. That template leads to an explanation about it being archived and links to a discussion on the talk page. Really what you should do is go to the website they linked to (if they did) and use a citation template to fill in the parameters in English. They appear to not be using any sort of citation template there, and I don't know if they do on the French Wikipedia. For the second one you would use {{cite book}}, and fill in the information manually. The categories are not supposed to be added until it is moved over, but you can add a category and not include it by adding a colon after the first set of brackets (for example [[:Category:Living people]] shows Category:Living people). You can search for free images on Flickr or Google by selecting the copyright you wish to search for, but it must be available for reuse by anyone, with modifications, and/or for commercial purposes (there is a check box you can select in advanced search in both Google and Flickr). --kelapstick(bainuu) 08:08, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
- Very very helpful thank you much kelapstick!TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 12:42, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Curious
editMiss Bono Does this mean I can delete the "sandbox page article" now? Or should i wait for the article to be approved and reviewed? and the history question answered. Just let me know. I gotta go now and might take me a little while to respond to any future messages. I am pleased this has been moved and grateful once more for your help. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:19, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Don't delete the page. I never do that, keep it. But if you think it is better for you to delete the page you can do that... Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:25, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oh ok i wont delete then. Thanks, and please see my comments below Re: your question on my talk page. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:29, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Per Miss Bono question re: what i think this article needs
editMiss Bono , I think a picture of Michka of course would be great. The sections need to be expanded a little bit with more info. And some added references wouldn't hurt either. Wondering if it would be ok to add a little blurb about what each novel/publication is about? Or is that not normally done? I saw an article somewhere about why he wrote "without identity" and thought it was interesting I only wanted to do more research on it (something about his "lost" or missing passport) anyhow thats all i see for now. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:28, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- TattØØdẄaitre§ Well, as for the picture, I will ask Jim if he can find some for the article and a little bit of information. As for the blurb. I think you should try and write it in the draft (that's the reason I don't delete my draft :) they are helpful) and then, if it fix well, you can move it to the main article :) Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:40, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
