editThere is a lot to be added here. Good to see the topic exists, though.
I took liberty to add some background, and can certainly contribute a great deal more. By the way, I have read what I assume is your paper on high speed imaging in wavy microchannels. I have done similar work in plate-fin micro arrays.
As for classification of micro-channels... there is some debate as to this. One group does consider it to be a classification of size <1mm, (or <100um) (e.g. Kandlikar and Mehendale) though the actual break point is not clear, while there is another set that believe it to be related to the transition point where surface tension forces become substantial when compared to forces due to viscosity and fluid momentum. For two phase flow this is certainly an issue, and so the Bond number (or Confinement number per Kew & Cornwell) may well be the most appropriate classification criterion for evaporators. --Tjcognata 06:26, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
