First sentence
editThe first sentence "The microbial loop describes a trophic pathway in the marine microbial food web where dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is returned to higher trophic levels via its incorporation into bacterial biomass, and then coupled with the classic food chain formed by phytoplankton-zooplankton-nekton." speaks of marine microbial food webs, although the term is actually applicable to any aquatic food web, given the presence of a microbial loop. It should therefore be changed into "...in the aquatic (limnic or marine) microbial food web..." Or something similar. Regards R
Sloppy Feeding
editThe term sloppy feeding is currently not explained. This confuses newcomers (myself included). What exactly is sloppy feeding? 2A02:8388:1601:E000:BE5F:F4FF:FECD:7CB2 (talk) 17:58, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
