Proposal

I propose that the page Midge go directly to the article presently called Midge (insect) for the following reasons:

• The preponderance of incoming links to all midge articles are destined for Midge (insect)
• Midge (insect) is the only non-trivial encyclopaedic article among the disambig entries
• A new disambig page Midge (disambiguation) can be created to sort out the more trivial articles.
• A hat note above the new Midge page can refer readers to the new Midge (disambiguation) page.
• This new arrangement will save many readers considerable time by going to the predominant usage
• Editors will have an easier time linking to the correct page, because most of them are trying to link to the insect
• This new scheme will avoid mistaken links (of which there are now at least six) of articles trying to link to the insect article, and are presently going to the present disambig page by mistake.
