Talk:Mie–Grüneisen equation of state

Searching for "mie-grüneisen" on Google Scholar, gives 2160 hits, "mie-gruneisen" gives 2520 hits. For the last five years, the figures are 743/650. Therefore it seems to me that the correct writing is increasingly adopted by the physical community, which should be reflected by wikipedia. Seattle Jörg (talk) 10:44, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

I deleted the section "Grüneisen constant for perfect crystals with pair interactions", as it is duplicated to the letter with Grüneisen parameter and belongs rather there (if anywhere). Made the article use consistently "Grüneisen", waiting for comments concerning moving it to Mie–Grüneisen equation of state. Seattle Jörg (talk) 10:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

The parameter c0 in the relation us = c0 + s up is not the bulk sound speed. It is the intercept of the linear equation. Often, it is numerically close to the value of the sound speed, but it is a mistake to associate the two. If wanted I can supply various references to this point.
