Contested deletion
editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (meets pornbio standards, the subject was nominated for an AVN award for best director in 2012, and the article is referenced) --Herzlicheboy (talk) 20:21, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Notability
editThere is nothing "undue" given to the sources presented. My associates in the Wikiproject Porn area have informed me that the Notability "bar" is that the subject has been nominated for an AVN award, or other major pornography sector award. The subject here, Mike Adriano, has been nominated for such. It's like the Oscars for porn people. Herzlicheboy (talk) 21:04, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not talking about general notability! He is notable for the award, but what else makes him notable? What facts are valid for inclusion? I'm talking about things like penis length. Is that particular statement notable? GA-nominated articles in WP Porn do not include this information. I'm only expressing a concern that the statement gives WP:UNDUE weight to it. — kikichugirl inquire 21:13, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- There is something slightly ironic in considering the length and girth of a porn star's penis to be undue weight, but I do see what you mean. Fiddle Faddle 21:31, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- I suppose it would not be undue in a longer article, but in such an article, I am wondering if it is undue. Regardless, the tone of this article needs to be cleaned up. Also, the only source for him doesn't mention him. I may consider AfD. — kikichugirl inquire 21:40, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

- Since the supposed reference fails validation we are back to a BLPPROD. That doesn't prevent AfD, of course. There is sufficient notability asserted to make CSD untenable, though. Fiddle Faddle 21:56, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Didn't see your BLPPROD there. I went to AfD after doing a thorough check for more sources. With the current state of things, BLPPROD may take a while. — kikichugirl inquire 22:03, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

- There are a number of things to keep in mind here. First, the creator of this article in new to Wikipedia. Second, I'm pretty sure that one can only PROD an article once, and then it's off to AfD (where we are now). Third, there really aren't that many "GA-nominated articles in WP Porn" unfortunately, and there unfortunately doesn't appear to much effort going into getting articles up to that high status in the Pornography Project. Fourth, it would be best for all involved here if you all became better versed in the various tools & references that are available for adult-related articles on Wikipedia. Lastly, a few of us have edited the article (which still needs a lot of help for sure) recently, and the subject of this article pretty clearly passes PORNBIO at this point...with at least 7 recent major adult award nominations. Happy editing... Guy1890 (talk) 03:52, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

IGI Global
editIGI Global is an academic vanity press. [1], [2] - many of its books are print on demand, or sold only in individual copies to libraries of record. My researches on Wikipedia have found that most links to IGI Global books are added by single-purpose accounts. Guy (Help!) 09:14, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
