editContrary to the first paragraph, it appears that Tom Flores also won Super Bowls as a player (Super Bowl IV with the Chiefs), assistant coach (Super Bowl XI with the Raiders) and head coach (Super Bowls XV and XVIII with the Raiders). --Metropolitan90 09:26, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Mike Ditka Resorts

- I see no harm in adding the content, however, the prose in which it was written in does not comply with Wikipedia's policies. Another editor, or myself, will re-write it so it complies with this encyclopedia's standards. -- ShadowJester07 ►Talk 17:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's already been re-written to an appropriate size for the article, see the bottom of the "Other Ventures" section. Advertisements/PR are not accepted content in Wikipedia. --Claygate (talk) 21:56, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Da Coach
editI think that this should be included in the article since that what Chicagoans refer to him as. --Chitomcgee 05:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that anyone would have a problem with adding a line explaining that. However, changing the "Coach" heading to "Da Coach" is not the best way to add that information to the article.
- Thanks --Claygate 01:20, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Should it have it's own section...about how he become alot more famous because of the famous SNL skit...or should it just be mentioned in another section..and if so which one? Chitomcgee 04:54, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- You could add a new section titled such as "In popular culture" to add that information. --Claygate 13:39, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
I just added a link to the article that pertains to the SNL sketch in which "da coach" was made famous, and I think that should suffice --Chitomcgee 19:27, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Acting career?
editI'm wondering, are there any people willing to add information on Mr. Ditka's acting career? I've only got info on two places he's shown up (Game Over (film) and Quarterback Attack), but I do know he's been on multiple movies and television shows as a guest star. Anyone? - Kitsune Sniper / David Silva 02:57, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
I believe he played a played a somewhat more significant role than just a cameo on Kicking & Screaming which was the film that starred Will Ferrell.
Yes - He played himself in Kicking and Screaming. 75.63.69.12 21:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Triple achievement
editThose two men won a triple achievement. Tony Dungy's dual achievement as a player and coach does not belong on this article - not here. Ronbo76 03:21, 5 February 2007 (UTC
- Fair enough; however, with sports commentators around North America dropping all three names together, it might not be a bad idea to mention the "double achievement" on all three pages. That way, we prevent what could be perceived as an inconsistency. Andy Saunders 04:57, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- No, the triple achievement is a different or higher level of an achievement. The dual win as a player and coach is correctly listed on Dungy's article. Ronbo76 05:01, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- What is really sad, is that some editors see this difference and edit out the assistant win in the articles to include Dungy. That indicates that they know or can appreciate the difference but want to include Dungy. Ronbo76 05:14, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Residence?
editWhere does he live now? Shouldn't that be put somewhere? 75.63.69.12 21:50, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
"Iron" Mike Ditka
editThere was a commercial for something (which presently escapes me) using Cathy (as in "AAAAACK!!!") showing the coach joining her in line for (presumably) the product in the ad; if somebody remembers the product, could you add this to his article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.58.112.44 (talk) 20:27, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Coack Ditka's coments
editCoach Ditka was asked by Chris Berman today (2/7/10) on Super Bowl NFL Countdown, whether he thought New Orleans and its team were ready for the Super Bowl? Coach Ditka replied basically by saying, you pray and do whatever it takes to get to the Super Bowl, while just a few segments earlier he questioned the Colts' decision to rest some of its players looking forward to the postseason.
'C'MON MAN! WHICH IS IT? WHICH DO YOU REMEMBER, THE GIANTS' DEFEATING THE PATRIOTS' OR THE PATRIOTS ALMOST HAVING A PERFECT SEASON?'
Eliminated the part about Ditka touching a kid
editHi. I eliminated the above mentioned section because the source did not in any way match the claim (it was an article concerning Walter Payton's bio). I was also unable to find any other mention of this incident anywhere. Hope I did it the right way, as Wikipedia has changed since I last made an edit.
Yours,

Links to years
editWhy does every year mentioned have a link to a barely relevant "season" for that year? I took the liberty of removing them, unless really relevant.2603:8080:B203:79BD:911A:76E1:E759:C128 (talk) 16:25, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
