Salter or Saulter
editThis is a case where there are conflicting sources. The New York Times obituary and Batterberry include the "u", while the other sources do not. The Google Ngram favors omitting the "u", and indicates why the Times perhaps made a spelling error: Saulter is a common spelling for this surname. Google search for Saulter
Cases like this remind me of Henry S. Parmelee or Parmalee (see Talk:Henry S. Parmelee) – I think we should handle this in a similar fashion, unless we locate a spelling correction by the Times or a source addressing the misspelling. – wbm1058 (talk) 18:05, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
