editPlease could whoever keeps removing certain dates from this page try to find the correct dates? Or at least repair the sentence you leave behind rather than leaving a gap so it reads "On , he..." or whatever. Perhaps you could explain why you think the date's wrong.
Also I'm not sure the part about gaining £100 000 from public funds really belongs on a Wikipedia page. I've left it for the moment, but at very least there needs to be references to back it up. You might not like the man, but please try to keep the format of the article to that of an encyclopedia article. --JRawle 17:58, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
The 100k was based on his earnings as an MSP, his expenses from HoL the details were from current MSPs salaries and newspaper articles covering the sums he had received in expenses from HoL. His current expenses as an MSP and from the HoL have not been published as given the timing it is unlikely they have been submitted. However it was based on an average amount claimed by MSPs. The purpose if its inclusion was to show a perspective on why he denied guilt initially, as this offers a greater reflection than could normally be expected of his personal qualities.
However I am a little disappointed the majority of the article covers his conviction.
- I think that's to be expected as it is a current event. It does also discuss the elections he contested and the Wild Mammals bill, which is more than is on many politicians' pages. There's quite a lot in the way of background bio on the BBC and other sites at the moment, though, so it might be a good opportunity to expand the article. --JRawle 20:59, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
