Seems strange to me because I would think it's just a natural language way of describing sometime who sang in that language as a part of categorization. But if that's the rule then so be it. Dan Carkner (talk) 23:26, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Errors

The article reproduces numerous myths and legends about Mikhail Epelbaum, in other words, there are many gross errors in it. In particular, Epelbaum did not participate in the expeditions of S. An-sky, was not a student of the Warsaw Institute of Music, and was not rehabilitated in 1954. Undoubtedly, the article has become much better. But a number of errors remained. All errors are borrowed from the site www.kino-teatr.ru. I would recommend that you do not use this dubious resource and remove the link to it. If you need a link to a Russian-language biography of Epelbaum, then his short bio on yiddishmusic.jewniverse.info is quite correct. The only thing I would mention is that, if a provably incorrect fact appears in a number of Soviet publications, it may be better to mention that it was alleged but that it seems incorrect, rather than not mentioning it at all, and use the 2016 article as a source for why it's incorrect. If it's simply not mentioned it may attract some drive-by edits from people who have access to the many mistaken sources in future years. Dan Carkner (talk) 19:32, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

You are right, but some errors are too obvious. For example: neither Epelbaum nor any other Gulag prisoner was rehabilitated in 1954. Basic historical fact: the process of rehabilitation began only after the 20th Congress of the Communist Party (1956). 84.52.127.46 (talk) 15:27, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

One more note. It is incorrect to call Epelbaum a Russian singer. Performing songs in Russian was an absolutely marginal part of his activities.
