I've noticed that there is not actually a link to the page France in the head of the article. What. -Raxicoricofallapatorius (talk) 03:13, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion

Noticed the tag, Perhaps some of this article could be incorporated into Conscription in France ? Goldblooded (talk) 20:54, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

What is this?!

My God, this article is not only unnecessarily huge, as well as a complete mess. I tried to read it, but I couldn't figure it out where was the beginning, middle or ending. --Lecen (talk) 14:13, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

10,000 words

This article is way over 10,000 words. Wikipedia articles most not be longer than 10,000 words. The article itself is also very hard to read and has a lot of un-relevant and misleading information. Jonas Vinther (talk) 14:32, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Among misleading things, there is an over-emphasis on Vichy (or neglect of other topics like Free France, the resistance and the occupation if one wishes to see it that way). I think this is due to attempts some years ago to include Vichy as a combatant flag as Axis co-belligerent in the WWII infobox, which resulted in in wp:tendentious and wp:pointy editing to portray it as much as possible as Axis-aligned. A great part of it has eroded away naturally over time, but there are still after-effects lingering on, sometimes very subtly, and editors should keep an eye open for that. walk victor falk talk 03:17, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
  • This goes not only for this article but all France WWII articles. walk victor falk talk 10:23, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Yes, well, in that case, all un-sourced information should be removed in a huge clean-up edit. Jonas Vinther (talk) 09:22, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Just removing unsourced would be a sledgehammer job and ulitmately counter-productive. What needs to be done is more summarizing and splitting off into other articles eg France in North Africa Campaign, or Military forces of France during World War II. Hiving off the latter alone would make a significant dent. GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:24, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Concur. Let us more intelligently organize the information in article space instead of deleting content. W. B. Wilson (talk) 18:49, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Talk:France during World War II

It's important to sort out the mess that are the WWII articles.

All input welcome. Thank you. walk victor falk talk 20:07, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
