Scientific name
editSo what is really the scientific name of this fish? Ruthos mylescus or Chanos chanos? The article says it's Ruthos mylescus, but the table on the right said the latter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.90.85.18 (talk) 09:05, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
I happened to just downloaded a pdf by USAID. And there are at least 26 scientific names for milkfish. USAID uses the C. chanos. FireWorks (talk) 02:50, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- THe IUCN also use Chanos chanos and list many synonyms. The IUCN assessment is hard to find as there is only a regional (Persian Gulf) assessment that is missed by the default search on their website. Jts1882 | talk 13:47, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Thorns???
editThe Consumption section keeps referring to "thorns" and "thorny". Does this fish have sharp spikes on its scales, or is that slang for fish bones? Looking around on the Internet, many other people besides me are confused by this terminology and don't know what people are referring to when they say they got a "fish thorn" stuck in their throat.
