Professional musicians have the opinion that even when Milton Banana lacked formal musical education, he undoubtely had a large dose of talent. They feel his handling of drum rim percussion was outstanding among Samba and Bossa-Nova drummers, not limiting to snare drum rim, but including Tom-toms and other drums too. And point out that the recordings on which he performs, he never seems to play above the rest of the band, as he respected the work of his colleages.
