Merge proposal
editMindTouch has a track record of changing its product names and the rebranding as MindTouch 2009 clearly indicates an intention of continuing to change the product name.

Since the product name is changing, it therefore makes sense to merge the product entry into the main company entry.
I should also mention the product naming history - Deki Wiki to MindTouch Deki to MindTouch 2009 (MindTouch Core), and in the future, MindTouch 2010, etc
(we've also had MindTouch Dream and DekiBox)

- The IP who added the "reads like a manual" tag only has contributions to what looks to be a competing product. Now, an IP from the same range has added a "conflict of interest" tag without adding any content to the talk page to suggest why. I am removing the tags again until there is some justification added to this page, in which case I will be happy to address the sections. CraigBox (talk) 18:52, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- As a user of an open-source software package, which was not well covered by Wikipedia, I wrote a well-cited article about it, which I worked on for a couple of days under my own User page until I considered it "beta worthy". A rising tide lifts all boats, and a good encyclopedic article enriches Wikipedia, as well as attracting more people to use and enhance a piece of software, thus benefiting myself. If I could have written it differently, please say so, or even better, please make the edits yourself; but attacking me for having an conflict of interest is not appreciated, especially when you have offered no indication you do not have your own agenda for doing so. - A web search for mindtouch and craig box shows a clear association, possible employee since April 2009 (twitter). Comment on this page also show a COI. Entry looks promotional. Consider Advert tag or merge with main mindtouch entry. - I do not, and have never, worked for MindTouch - I currently work for Coreworx, Inc. in Canada, as my LinkedIn profile shows. I use MindTouch Deki (open source version), and Coreworx are not a MT customer. I have become an active participant on the MT forums/IRC/etc as my contribution to the open source software. The goal of the entry is to be encyclopedic, not promotional, and I am all for it being rewritten. I have asked on the MT forums for other community members (not MindTouch staff) to assist in rewriting the article to use secondary references and appear less promotional. - I can vouch that Craig is not a MindTouch employee. He is just an avid fan of MindTouch as he has previously stated. We have a large developer community with many active memeber. Craig is one of the most helpful and active. Furthmore, I'm posting this from a MindTouch IP. References must be from neutral third party primary sources. References from company Web sites and press releases are not valid.

software name
editthe name of the software is now "MindTouch". it was changed to stop the confusion of software name and company name. the available software variations are now: "MindTouch 2009 STANDARD", "MindTouch 2009 ENTERPRISE" reference: [[3]]
maybe the name of the article should be changed or there should be a reference to the new name.... just my opinion.

MindTouch Core → MindTouch – the current name of this software is MindTouch, and as such it is known and referred to in sources since 2009. The target name (MindTouch) is a redirect to this article. Move back to MindTouch Core
editI believe this article should be moved back to MindTouch Core, as it deals with the legacy, open-source platform that MindTouch, Inc. is currently supporting existing customers on (under the name "MindTouch Platform"), but no longer promoting. All new development since late 2011 has gone towards MindTouch's SaaS Help/KnowledgeBase offering, "MindTouch TCS" http://www.mindtouch.com/product/. I recommend two articles, one for MindTouch Core and one for MindTouch TCS which includes new technologies and infrastructure involving nodejs, nginx, and Amazon_Web_Services.
So to sum up:
- MindTouch Core - legacy, open-source wiki-mashup software (no longer under active development)
- MindTouch Platform - same software as Core, with MindTouch, Inc. support (no longer under active development)
- MindTouch TCS - SaaS product help site / knowledgebase (active development)
What would the best way to represent this?

- From the references I concluded that MindTouch TCS is a SaaS rendition of MindTouch Core/Platform. Isn't it? Anyway, unless there is enough independent reliable sources discussing MindTouch TCS as something different then MindTouch Core/Platform, all these products should stay in the article. - At this point, MindTouch TCS was forked from Core/Platform years ago and Core/Platform have been sunsetted: http://www.mindtouch.com/blog/2013/04/09/mindtouch-core-and-platform-this-is-the-end-beautiful-friend/. http://blog.mindtouch.us/ describes years of changes to MindTouch TCS that are not part of Core/Platform.

- Hi, this is ~ AaronF (talk) 04:30, 17 December 2013 (UTC) I'm a founder of MindTouch. It's exciting to see that the MindTouch page is getting some love. :-) I'll chime in and add that there's about 62,400 man-hours of programming that differentiate our cloud product offering from MindTouch Core.
