Notability

edit

Essentially, the only facts about train itself in the article appear to be Starting at Boston’s North Station, it ran to Fitchburg, Greenfield and then through the Hoosac Tunnel to North Adams and Troy, NY. [...] The train debuted on their May 1926 timetable, replacing an unnamed train. Travel time was approximately 5 hours. [...] In January 1958, the Minute Man was discontinued,. I see two problems with this:

  1. The only source that seems to support this is the timetable - but the references go to a huge collection of 1936 (sic!) timetables and a 1959 timetable.
  2. This information seems to be WP:ROTM: every train in the universe have (or had) these attributes. Named trains are frequently notable, but is there any additional information available for this one? Pinging @Zackrules90:
The rest of the text in the article seems to be tangential to the subject. For other editors: note that there is apparently another "Minute Man" train by Amtrak that is much better known, results of my own searches we entirely related to the Amtrak train. I added some additional unique details and facts about this named train to differentiate it from others. Amtrak used the Minute Man name on two trains between Boston and Philadelphia and Boston and Washington, DC, and I could not find much detail about it. Rather than throw this article away, do you have any information I could add to it? I do know that Amtrak often copied historic named trains for its own services. If I had more information, I would have added it already. Please note that the link to 1926 timetable (#1 in references) still points to 1936 timetables. Викидим (talk) 07:29, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've added several sources and removed the notability tag. From my very brief research, this is a clear GNG pass. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 08:24, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great additions, thanks! Zackrules90 (talk) 03:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
