Mirdita tribe

edit

@Resnjari: Thanks for your work on this article, very needed content. I was wondering if we should create a separate Mirdita (tribe) article about the tribe, as it is the practice with other similar cases like Kastrati, Shala etc. Thoughts? Ktrimi991 (talk) 16:16, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Ktrimi991:, i'm still in the works of adding a few things as you pinged me. :) I would say probably not as the historical regions of the north almost always correspond to the tribal boundary of the same name tribal and regional unit. As long as its outlined in the lede (like with Luma region, or even Mat District in each article that so and so is the name of the region that corresponds to the historical tribe of so and so, it should do it. Otherwise were going to end up with duplicates of the same thing if we split the article into region and tribe. Thats my take on it. As your a fresh pair of eyes, if you think a split is more sufficient, i'll be ok with that. Just need to add a bit more about the independent Albania period and then how you want to go about it, its all yours. Best.Resnjari (talk) 16:27, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Resnjari: I see your point. The articles of Albanian tribes were edited by many editors in the past, and the same logic was not followed in all those articles. The result is that some articles of Albanian tribes are rather messy and confusing, and in dire need for work. Some might need to merge with the articles of the correspondent regions. I think I will put some effort on solving some of those issues, and some help is welcome :) Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 17:03, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Ktrimi991:, one thing that just clicked for me is that many of these articles are labelled as so and so (tribe) (i.e Hoti (tribe), Kastrati (tribe)). Tribes today in the Albania are defunct (due to the communist era), while all tribal areas are still active ethnographic and geographic regions. I was thinking possibly that the article/s that have the word tribe in brackets be replaced with the term region (kind of like with the Luma article) instead and the form of so and so (tribe) being a redirect pagename. While we can have administrative district pages which are about administrative district of so and so name be separate as they are political creations that don't in some areas correspond to traditional tribal/regional boundaries. In this way your suggestion for separating Mirdita as a separate article would suffice. Thoughts ?Resnjari (talk) 17:48, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Resnjari: Agreed. This way all articles of Albanian tribes would be in the same line. Can you make those page movements when time permits? Ktrimi991 (talk) 17:54, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Ktrimi991:, ok, but tomorrow. I want to get Mirdita done and out of the way. lol Resnjari (talk) 17:58, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Ktrimi991: it was about two months overdue, but i did the split and content transfers to a new article for the region and tribe (see Mirdita. Hope it was what you had in mind as well. Best.Resnjari (talk) 13:13, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Resnjari: The coverage of Albanian tribes on Wikipedia is now better and clearer. Thanks. Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 13:27, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
