• It commences with "Como la Flor" (1992), a commercially and critically acclaimed piece widely regarded as Selena's signature song and her "trademark", "Como la Flor" has become a posthumous epithet and swan song, as well as her most renowned recording. This sentence should be split after (1992).

Reception

• releases, Houston Chronicle's Ramiro Burr Two problems here. One, "the"—lowercase in this instance—should go before "Houston". Two, Burr wrote for San Antonio papers. In fact, comparing this with the very next item (Express-News, 9-19-93) reveals they are the same. It's odd that the Houston Chronicle piece published first. I'd excise the Chronicle reference.
  • The September 17, 1993, article in the El Paso Times is the same column.

• 27: Going to have to AGF on this as it's an offline book reference to Patoski, Selena's biographer.
• 31: Another offline source.
• 41: ...runs El Palacio de la Musica in Central Falls. Peralto reported yesterday that the store sold out of [Selena] stock shortly after her death was reported, but that they expect a new order in by tomorrow. That's in Rhode Island, so this checks out there, but the only mention of a music store in Massachusetts doesn't seem to match the article claim: A clerk at Strawberries in Seekonk said the store did not have any Selena records, but would order them if customers wanted them. This is acceptable if mention of Massachusetts is dropped.
