– No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC following the creation, six weeks ago, of the disambiguation page. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 07:05, 6 July 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 17:59, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose. The actor is the clear primary topic[1]. The creation of Mitchell Lewis (footballer) six weeks ago has not changed that. Station1 (talk) 03:36, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per User:Station1, i.e. per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC Aspect #2. Pageview stats also show the actor's article is viewed far more often than the footballer's. — AjaxSmack 02:13, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. All disambiguation pages have entries which are viewed to a higher degree than other entries upon the same dab page. If such frequency of views were to be the sole consideration, all dab pages would feature a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The fact is, however, that the large majority of dab pages have no primary topic. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:33, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- Another way to look at it is many dab pages do have a primary topic that simply hasn't been recognized yet, in many cases because all the topics are obscure enough that it's not worth the trouble. For pageviews to be a good indicator of a primary topic, they should be substantial, significantly greater than other topics that could reasonably have precisely the same title, and be consistent over time. In this case, Mitchell Lewis has been consistently averaging well over 50 hits per day (100 if you count spikes) while Mitch Lewis (unlikely to be titled "Mitchell" but possible) gets only 10-20% of that. Mitchell Lewis (footballer) is a new article that gets much less than Mitch and so far shows no signs of an upward trend. Considering there's no evidence to the contrary, that the actor is not the primary topic, pageviews are an excellent tool in this type of case. Station1 (talk) 08:52, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- The indisputable fact remains that a large majority (70%?, 80%?, 90%?) of disambiguation pages have no primary topic. As for those that do, particularly {hndis} pages, WP:COMMONSENSE must prevail. Although there are other people named John Kennedy, Winston Churchill or Elizabeth Taylor, the primary in such instances is immediately recognizable. Most primary topics, however, are not so obvious. There is a regular recurrence of RMs regarding WP:2DAB pages and individual circumstances govern the approach to other ones, such as Bob Brown, where a retired political figure with no international prominence remains as the primary topic over 21 other men named "Bob Brown" because he has support from a number of editors (Talk:Bob Brown#Requested move [June 2014] and Talk:Bob Brown#Requested move 6 January 2017)
- In the case at hand, whatever the number of users who may have typed "Mitchell Lewis", the possibility that they were researching the silent film character actor whose roles during the sound period dwindled to unbilled bits and who died more than 60 years ago, seems fairly remote. The creator of the actor's entry was the first to indicate support for this nomination. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 19:18, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

– The character actor, who died 66 years ago, had a few starring roles during 1910s and 1920s, but was primarily cast in supporting parts, continuing into early talkies. After 1934 and until his death in 1956, he played bit parts, mostly unbilled. The Mitchell Lewis (disambiguation) page also lists Mitchell Lewis (footballer), musician/composer Mitch Lewis as well as a car manufactured by the Mitchell-Lewis Motor Company and the historic Mitchell Lewis Building. The actor does not seem to have sufficient historical standing for a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:51, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support Clearly WP:NOPRIMARY, either in views or long term significance. BilledMammal (talk) 03:31, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Where are you looking for views? There appears to be a clear primary topic from what I'm seeing, but I might just be missing something. As far as I can tell, the situation has not changed since the last discussion above.--Yaksar (let's chat) 20:00, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
