Founding date of 2001 seems wrong

edit

Does anyone have a source for this? Here is an article from the Guardian from October 2000 that says that Mitzpe Hagit was evacuated in 1999, so it must have been founded before 2001, and then reoccupied by settlers in October 2000. If no one has a source or understands what happened, I'll edit this in somehow after a while. Cheers!— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 04:52, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here is another one from the Jerusalem Post in April 2000 stating that settlers intend to return to Mitzpe Hagit, so again, they must have been there before 2001 if they're intending to return in 2000.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 04:55, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here is another one from the J Post from December 1999 stating that Barak ordered Mitzpe Hagit dismantled in 1999 and Peace Now claiming that the government had approved new caravans in Mitzpe Hagit. I think that 2001 must be wrong, and that it must have been re-established in 2000 after an earlier establishment date. Perhaps 2001 is when the approval was official or something? I can't find any sources that even mention 2001.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 05:00, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here is one from early November 1999 from the J Post stating that Mitzpe Hagit residents will temporarily leave until permits are authorized and then they will return.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 05:04, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here is one from October 1999 which has Barak announcing a list of "encampments" to be dismantled, which includes Mitzpe Hagit, so there were people living there in 1999, again.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 05:07, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Finally, Here is one from the Financial Times in April 1999 with Shimon Ben-Dor, the same guy as in the first source listed above, discussing how the outpost will thrive and turn into a settlement. At that point it had only two caravans and there's no talk of evacuation.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 05:11, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I think it might have been my mistake when the article was created - I translated from the Hebrew version which states 1999 as foundation date. I've changed it to that. Number 57 17:14, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah, thanks. I will try to include some of the material from these sources in the article soon, then.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 17:18, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
