Proposed Move
editI am planning on moving this page to Mixed doubles curling, since that is the entire content of the section. Given that there is no article on "Mens curling" or "Womens Curling", I don't think there is a need for a Mixed curling as an article. Please let me know if you have any concerns. meamemg (talk) 16:29, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- I would endorse this move (not a split, which is that tag on the article). There is World Mixed Curling Championship, which would have to be removed from the article, but it's not any different from the standard four-player game, just with mixed teams. Reywas92Talk 06:01, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
- I agree this article isn't needed but I think the new page should be Doubles curling. Doubles can have the same variations as regular curling as far as mixed/open/men's/women's and I think the article should be more general than just mixed doubles (even though that is overwhelmingly the most popular). I have split the Mixed doubles section into its own article Doubles curling. It got deleted due to a bot thinking it had copyright infringement (the website that was cited actually took the text from this article and even said so) and two users not looking at the cited website at all before deleting but I'll get it reinstated or recreate it with different text that won't trigger a copyright infringement warning. I still agree that mixed curling doesn't need its own article so I intend to merge it into curling and change Mixed curling into a disambiguation page to direct people to either the mixed curling section of curling or to doubles curling for mixed doubles. I think the disambiguation page is needed since mixed doubles is quickly gaining in popularity and mixed curling is relatively unknown. - A202985 (talk) 22:45, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
