Coordinate error
edit{{geodata-check}}
The coordinates need the following fixes:
- [TYPE HERE]
--2.80.138.1 (talk) 03:18, 15 August 2010 (UTC) Greenland sea?
- The current coords, other than being out in the middle of the fjord, are probably close to being right. Part of the problem may be the definition of just what land area should be considered to be part of the village. The referenced lighthouse is on the point considerably to the east of the current location, at 65°16′11″N 13°34′36″W / 65.269843°N 13.576570°W. (I'm not sure which building it is, so I'm not inserting the coords in the article, but the coords are from here and here.) I suspect that the village is strung out along the entire northern side of the fjord with, perhaps, the largest concentration at 65°12′16″N 13°48′22″W / 65.204474°N 13.806102°W, though there's another Panoramio photo (65°12′18″N 13°49′44″W / 65.204924°N 13.828976°W) which is said to be in the village just east of that concentration, with the lighthouse being "in" the village only in the sense that the village is the closest population center to it. Perhaps someone can build on this information. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 17:14, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Zooming in seems to indicate the major part of the village to be at 65°12′13″N 13°47′42″W / 65.20351°N 13.79494°W, and that is the solution I have adopted for many thousands of UK coords. At the default scale, I think all we need to do is to point the reader to the general area and allow them to zoom in to their own level of interest. Unless anyone has any objections, I'll make this change in a couple of days or so. Rodhullandemu 16:35, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm going to adopt that as the solution and deactivate the geodata-check tag. Regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 15:01, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
