Talk:Modern Times (Bob Dylan album)

Album artwork
editIt would be great if someone could get the album artwork for that Luna Album mentioned at the bottom of the article, so it could be compared to that of Modern Times.
Platinum Album
editAccording to the RIAA website, the album was platinum certified on 01/09/2007. Someone should add that to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.214.225.13 (talk) 15:09, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Production
editIs the rambling paragraph about production ("digital", "overcompressed") really appropriate? It seems to just be second guessing and likely over analyzing a single quote of Dylan's, to make a vague point depending on various "theories" of interpreting Dylan's quote. Pretty speculative and seemingly irrelevant for an encyclopedia, in my humble opinion. --Akeshet 04:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
#31 or #32
editMaybe we should settle on whether Modern Times is Dylan's 31st or 32nd album. Personally, I have no strong feelings regarding the count, but the articles should be consistent. I suppose Basement Tapes is the album not counted in the list below in order to be Modern Times #31. The article for "Love and Theft" says its his thirtieth and the one for Time Out of Mind says #29, so #31 would be the obvious choice for Modern Times (also for continuity's sake). I once changed the artice to say so, but was reverted. Opinions, anyone? Blur4760 21:44, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Controversy Fix
editI fixed the controversy section a bit to even it out, but it may still be a little POV, as obviously I don't think that borrowing themes from classic poetry is plagiarism - just evidence of being well-read. I think my edit still needs to be here in some form or another, but if you want to edit it a bit to even out my biases have a crack at it :). 203.131.167.26 10:44, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Henry Timrod
editJust a heads up, but Henry Timrod is not an anagram of Modern Times... where'd that little H go?

"Ma Rainey" & "Thunder on a Mountain"
editthat which is stated in this article about the relationship between the two is false. compare the lyrics, they are so different. there is a vague similarity, but they arent even distant cousins. remove it or i will. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.10.161.253 (talk) 03:45, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Moderntimes,Bobdylan.jpg
editImage:Moderntimes,Bobdylan.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Blender Magazine review rating: no stars?
editUnless I'm reading the infobox rating wrong, there's something apparently not right here. The Blender review is by Robert Christgau, and it's generally highly respectful of Dylan and the album if not overly glowing. Unfortunately, the computer I'm using isn't displaying the graphics, so I can't tell what the star rating is. I believe it couldn't possibly be 0 out of 5, given what the review says, as well as the fact that the next review in the infobox is also by Christgau, in which he awards an A+. Would somebody please take a look at this to determine exactly what the deal is? Thanks. Allreet (talk) 15:44, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Christgau gives it 5 of 5 stars, not 0 of 5. See the link to the review. Changed infobox rating. Allreet (talk) 01:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Rollin' and Tumblin'
editWhy does it say that the album has all tracks written by Bob Dylan, yet one is quite obviously a cover (Rollin' and Tumblin') and has a link to the original song? 205.172.134.228 (talk) 21:19, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
